Only monsters whose faces are tied to non-Travelers' Hub NPC data carry over makeup for Journal viewing. This happens by design as a consequence of the Mii Cast system. However, all boss monsters that use the faces of either a Party Member or a Travelers' Hub guest (or his/her friend) modified using Makeup & Wigs will be displayed without said customization when viewed on the Journal.
