I have a case of road-rage (meetings are on Tuesdays for those interested) and I tend to cuss when I stub my toe on that pesky oscillating fan in my room (I GET SO MAD THINKING ABOUT IT). Sure, I have off days when I’m not in the best mood. I like to consider myself a glass-half-full type of gal. Or, that zit you get 3 days after seeing on Facebook that your ex is in a new relationship? Blame the hormones triggered in times of stress or an emotional state! Either that or the tub of Ben and Jerry’s consumed in one sitting… I’ve never understood that expression, by the way. My mental stability was put in to overdrive, and those hormones that assisted in my working extra hard wears off by the end of finals, and ta-da, I’m sick as a dog. For example, whenever I’m done with finals week (or when I WAS done, no longer a college student *insert tears*), I was always sick for the following 4-5 days. Maya Angelou quotes, “I’ve learned you can tell a lot about a person by the way (s)he handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.” A negative attitude can attribute to physical ailments like poor skin, being overweight, or a not-so-ideal immune system. Seriously though, who woulda thunk that attitude is an essential part of your overall wellness? It is one thing to have stressors in your life, but it’s another to completely avoid adjusting a small thing that controls our overall health-one’s attitude. Okay, I’m guilty of using cliché’s, forgive me.
